Plan de acción trienal para mejorar el nivel de desarrollo de PEEK y otras industrias de nuevos materiales y mejorar la competitividad básica de la industria manufacturera
The National Development and Reform Commission announced on November 27, 2017 that nine industries, including new materials, will be supported and promoted in the future. The new materials industry is an important foundation for the development of the national economy. Accelerating the cultivation and development of the new materials industry is of great strategic significance for promoting industrial transformation and upgrading, ensuring the implementation of major projects, and enhancing the core competitiveness of the manufacturing industry.
In the «New Materials First Batch Application Demonstration Guidance List (2017 Edition)» released in September 2017, PEEK (polyetheretherketone) was pointed out as an advanced chemical engineering plastic. This time, in the «Three-Year Action Plan to Enhance the Core Competitiveness of the Manufacturing Industry (2018-2020)» annex «Indicators for the Industrialization Project of Key Technologies for New Materials», it is clearly mentioned that PEEK (polyetheretherketone) is the main product of aromatic ketone polymers, and kiloton-level PEEK (polyetheretherketone) is used as the main indicator of industrialization scale.
In addition, the appendix also mentions high-performance special engineering plastics such as PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) and PBI (polybenzimidazole). PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) has excellent thermal stability, chemical stability and electrical properties. The glass transition temperature of PBI (polybenzimidazole) is Tg>400℃, and the thermal decomposition temperature can exceed 600℃.

「PEEK (Polyetheretherketone) Introduction」
The PEEK chain structure is mainly composed of benzene ring groups, which improves the rigidity and heat resistance of the polymer chain. Its melting point is 2.54°C. The segment structure characteristics and aggregate structure of PEEK give it outstanding heat resistance and high mechanical strength. It can be heated to 300°C in a short time at 50°C.
2Chemical resistance
At room temperature, except for concentrated sulfuric acid, PEEK is resistant to almost all chemicals. It has strong corrosion resistance to acids, alkalis and almost all organic solvents. Even at higher temperatures, it can still maintain excellent chemical stability.
3「Flame retardancy 」
PEEK is flame retardant and releases less smoke and toxic gases during combustion.
4«Abrasion resistance «
PEEK has outstanding tribological properties, excellent resistance to sliding wear and fretting wear, especially at high temperatures of 260°C, it can maintain high wear resistance and low friction coefficient.
5«Peel resistance «
PEEK resin has good peeling resistance and can be made into very thinly coated wires or magnet wires and can be used under harsh conditions.
6«Fatigue resistance «
PEEK resin has the best fatigue resistance among all resins.
7Hydrolysis resistance
PEEK resin and its composite materials are not chemically affected by water or high-pressure steam, and their products can maintain their properties even when used continuously in high-temperature and high-pressure water.
8Processability
Although PEEK resin is a heat-resistant resin, it has the characteristics of good high-temperature fluidity and high thermal decomposition temperature, so it can be processed by extrusion molding, compression molding, injection molding, blow molding, melt spinning, powder spraying and rotational molding. PEEK is easy to extrude and injection mold, with excellent processing performance and high molding efficiency, which is unmatched by polyphenylene ether and polyimide high-temperature resistant plastics.
9Radiation resistance
PEEK has a strong radiation resistance, which exceeds that of polystyrene, a general resin material with good radiation resistance. Therefore, it can be used as a high-performance wire that is required to maintain good insulation when the radiation dose reaches 1100 Mrad.
10«Insulation «
PEEK has excellent electrical insulation properties, and its volume resistivity can reach 10 15 -10 16 Ω·cm. It still has a small dielectric constant and dielectric loss in the high frequency range.
